In order to facilitate the pooling of knowledge and the advancement of darkside occultism, DCN maintains a database of occult related and darkside oriented documentation, each with info on where to obtain the items, and appended commentaries by DCN members explaining their thoughts on the item, in the format of book review or research paper. This database can be accessed online via passworded TCP/IP client connections, on distributed disk in a database interchange format, and finally in an indexed print form.
Access to each of these are for DCN members only, as are submissions (and a format for such submissions, though flexible, will be issued for the purposes of enhancing clarity). The online password and updates of the disk version and print version are priced like computer software- an initial purchase of size X, and free updates with a yearly upgrade at a much smaller price that the initial purchase. This purchase will be used to fund the paper for the printed version, the disks and time of copying for the distributed electronic version, and the maintenence of the TCP/IP Client database. It has not been decided whether each of the three will have seperate prices, and related price oriented details.
Gopher and WWW are the prime candidates for serving the database, as they are popular, can be password protected, have many Client applications, and support intelligent searching.
