DCN internal governance is dynamic, yet dedicated to being focused on the most practical solution to any problem. Firstly, the governance of DCN is as minimal as possible, triumvirs only stepping in and imposing authority when problems are not being resolved in a fair, timely and sensible manner. Ideally, darksiders resent being told what to do, but loathe acting foolishly even moreso.

It is the conclusion of the founders of DCN that individual fitness is maximized when both autonomy and intelligent solidarity are exalted. This principle is reflected by the fact that as many as possible of the specifics of regional governance are left to the discretion of the regional membership. The primary value of the regional group and it's regular gatherings is the promotion of discussion, informational and economic pooling, and debate. Some groups will benefit greater with formal presentations and protocol, and some will benefit more with freeform discussions- though most groups will have some kind of mix. Triumvirs can act as moderators or mediators- or have no role at all in formal discussion. The National Triumvirate will provide a guide containing several well-developed options from which the regional group can choose or ignore.

How triumvirs are themselves appointed are also in the hands of the local membership (though the National Triumvirate can step in if abuses are brought to their attention). 50% of the dues are placed at the disposal of the local group to enhance it's gatherings, promote darkside interests locally, or support other goals which the regional group feels are desirable.

The membership of the National Triumvirate is decided by the regional triumvirs in a periodic vote.

The National Triumvirate enjoys the privilege of assisting the founding of new groups, so that they can have the best chance possible of being self-sufficient and long lasting. In the case of disputed triumvirate appointments in a new regional group, or when the issue of abuses, incompetance, deception, criminality, or neglegance arise, the National Triumvirate will step in to investigate and catalyse a swift and fair resolution.
